    Dinosaur Blood Soup

    Saturday 17th August 10am - 12pm

    How do we know how dinosaurs lived? A fun look at the science using food and making Dinosaur Blood Soup together. Come & learn & then eat soup!

    Do you want to learn more science, but in a fun non-school like way!? This workshop is aimed at anyone who wants to learn about the world around them in a fun way and is for both Adults and Children. It is ideal for an parent & child to attend together.

    Train the Trainer

    Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th August 10am - 4pm

    If you want to start offering workshops or to feel more confident when you do. You may know your stuff but that doesn't necessarily mean you can teach and make sure people learn and enjoy it enough to recommend you to others.

    This course is taught by Jeanne Booth who has been training teachers and workshop leaders in universities and colleges for over 20 years. Places are limited to 12.

    Pattern Cutting

    Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th August 9.30am - 5pm

    This is an opportunity to learn basic pattern drafting methods. How to correctly measure the body; right through to producing your own basic block that fits. Then applying the measurements and techniques to create your basic bodice, sleeve and skirt.

    Places are restricted to 6 so if you would like to go you need to book early! We will however take names for a waiting list or for our next course.

    Make and Decorate Concrete Block-Men with Doctor Concrete

    Saturday 24th August

    10am- 12pm

    You will get to make Block-Men from either concrete or plaster of paris, decorate and take them home with you. This is ideal for a parent & child wishing to do a fun activity together.

    Come and join us to learn how you can benefit from having essential oils in your home to use as a safe and effective way to clean.

    We will be making our own plant powered recipes for green cleaning.

    Feeling ready for a change in your life, work or both? Sara McNicol's workshop will help you: get clear about what you really desire; build your confidence to make it happen; take consistent baby steps towards your new chapter.

  • Hire rates

    £35/hr or reduced rate £25/hr for small organisations. Hourly rate increases by 50% for hours before 8am and after 8pm.

    Ground floor minimum hire is 3 hours plus catering costs or guests can use the cafe during opening hours.

    Upstairs minimum hire is 2 hours and we can provide catering or hirers can provide their own (a returnable cleaning deposit is applied).

    Gallery Hire

    The gallery area is available to hire Friday - Sunday during the cafe's opening hours with set up and take down arranged outside of these hours.

    We would love to help you plan your exhibition and can offer:

    • Flexible hanging and take down times

    • Support with promotion and social media marketing

    • Disabled access and facilities

    • Your own private view Friday 4-7pm for £60 and BYO

    • Cost £100 - £300 (£500 for two weekends)

  • Call out to furniture & homeware makers and designers

    The ways we live, work and socialise are changing and so are the things we care deeply about. Shouldn't we be able to choose items for our homes that help us to live the lives we want to? THiNK has been supporting innovative thinking about homes, work. living and learning with Nottingham Cohousing and Fellows of the Royal Society of Arts for over two years. Now we have got together with award-winning UK Home Interiors blogger, Jen Stanbrook of Love Chic Living, to showcase contemporary, cutting edge design in Nottingham city centre.

     

    We are calling out to Designers and Makers of beautiful, innovative furniture and homewares, including items that:

    • use sustainable, natural, repurposed and/or recyclable materials
    • can perform more than one function, particularly for smaller homes
    • that renters or nomads can easily pick up and take away with them
    Designers and Makers -
    If you would like to show and sell your products, please read the information and guidance carefully. There is a £10 fee for applications which helps towards the administrative costs. Submit your application form by noon on September 1st and we will let you know no later than Sept 9th if you are in.
     
    Visitors - Register for tickets for the Opening Night and a chance to win a VIP goody bag. There is free admission Saturday 10-6pm and Sunday 11-5pm.

Hosted every week by Emma Torrance, SFEDI qualified independent business adviser with one or more of our Team Friday, a bunch of people who can help out with specialist advice including social media, website content, accounts, legal, contract and employment issues, funding and administration. Just bring your laptop, phone, tasks in hand and prepare to finish the week on a high! You can check out which of the Team Friday will be around here.
